Responsible Representation of International Accreditation Status
The International Education Board (IEB) provides voluntary, non-governmental accreditation to educational institutions and programs that demonstrate alignment with international education standards. This page explains how IEB accreditation is recognized and how accredited institutions may accurately and responsibly use their accreditation status.
IEB accreditation signifies an institution’s commitment to quality assurance, ethical practice, and continuous improvement within an internationally benchmarked framework.

Responsible Representation of International Accreditation Status
Nature of Recognition
IEB accreditation is an international quality assurance recognition issued by an independent, private education board. It is not a statutory license, degree-awarding authority, or government approval.
Recognition through IEB:
-
Confirms alignment with internationally developed accreditation standards
-
Demonstrates commitment to institutional quality and transparency
-
Supports international benchmarking and credibility
-
Does not replace national accreditation, licensing, or regulatory approval
Institutions remain fully responsible for compliance with all applicable national laws and regulations.
Authorized Use of IEB Accreditation
Institutions holding valid IEB accreditation may:
-
Reference IEB accreditation in official institutional communications
-
Display accreditation status on websites, brochures, and academic materials
-
Use approved IEB accreditation statements as provided
-
Participate in public listings of accredited institutions (where applicable)
All references must accurately reflect the scope, level, and validity period of accreditation granted.
Use of Name, Seal, and Accreditation Statements
The name International Education Board (IEB), accreditation seal, and related marks may only be used in accordance with IEB’s official guidelines.
Accredited institutions:
-
Must not alter or modify the IEB logo or accreditation seal
-
Must not imply government endorsement or statutory authority
-
Must not use accreditation claims beyond the approved scope
-
Must remove references upon suspension, expiry, or withdrawal of accreditation
Detailed logo and mark usage guidelines are provided separately under IEB policy documents.
Public Communication and Marketing
IEB accreditation may be used to support transparent communication regarding quality assurance and institutional standards. However, accreditation must not be presented in a misleading or promotional manner that misrepresents IEB’s role or authority.
Any public statements regarding accreditation should remain factual, accurate, and consistent with IEB policies.
Misuse and Misrepresentation
Any misuse, misrepresentation, or unauthorized use of IEB accreditation, name, or logo constitutes a breach of accreditation conditions and ethical standards.
IEB reserves the right to:
-
Require corrective action
-
Suspend or withdraw accreditation
-
Take appropriate legal or administrative measures where necessary
Verification of Accreditation Status
Stakeholders, learners, and partners are encouraged to verify an institution’s accreditation status through official IEB communication channels or published listings.
IEB promotes transparency to protect learners and maintain public trust in international accreditation.
Commitment to Ethical Recognition
Through clear recognition and usage guidelines, the International Education Board safeguards the integrity of its accreditation system while enabling institutions to responsibly demonstrate their commitment to international education quality.
