Legal Status and Scope of Authority
The International Education Board (IEB) is an independent, private, non-governmental international education authority engaged in accreditation, quality assurance, and standards development. IEB is not a statutory regulator, government body, licensing authority, or degree-awarding institution.
IEB accreditation represents voluntary recognition based on international education standards and does not replace or supersede national accreditation, licensing, or regulatory approval requirements imposed by governments or statutory authorities.

No Government Affiliation or Endorsement
IEB does not claim, and should not be represented as having, any form of governmental mandate, authority, or endorsement. Any implication that IEB accreditation constitutes government recognition, approval, or authorization is incorrect and prohibited.
Institutions remain solely responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements within their respective jurisdictions.

Limitation of Liability
IEB shall not be held liable for decisions made by institutions, learners, employers, or third parties based on IEB accreditation status. Accreditation reflects compliance with IEB standards at the time of evaluation and does not guarantee institutional performance, academic outcomes, or employment opportunities.

Use of IEB Name and Logo
The name International Education Board (IEB), its logo, seal, and accreditation marks are protected intellectual property and may only be used by institutions holding valid accreditation or written authorization from IEB.
This protection also extends to the official logos and identifiers of IEB’s specialized departments, including:

  • Referencing departmental accreditation status accurately and within the approved scope

  • Using approved accreditation statements without modification

Unauthorized use, alteration, or misrepresentation of the IEB name, departmental names, or logos is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited Use and Misrepresentation
Institutions and third parties must not:

  • Alter, distort, or recreate the IEB logo or accreditation seal

  • Use the logo beyond the approved accreditation period

  • Imply government recognition, statutory authority, or degree equivalence

  • Use IEB accreditation for misleading marketing or promotional claims

  • Apply the logo to programs or locations not covered under accreditation

Suspension, Withdrawal, and Corrective Action
IEB reserves the right to require immediate corrective action, suspend accreditation, or withdraw authorization for logo use in cases of misuse, misrepresentation, or non-compliance with IEB policies.
Upon suspension or withdrawal, all references to IEB accreditation, including logos and statements, must be removed without delay.

Verification of Accreditation Claims
IEB encourages learners, partners, employers, and the public to verify accreditation claims through official IEB listings or direct communication channels. Transparency in accreditation status is essential to maintaining public trust.

Acceptance of Terms
Use of the IEB name, logo, accreditation seal, or reference to accreditation status constitutes acceptance of this Legal Disclaimer and associated policies. IEB reserves the right to update these terms to reflect legal, regulatory, or operational requirements.

Commitment to Responsible Accreditation Practice
Through this Legal Disclaimer and Use of Logo policy, the International Education Board reaffirms its commitment to ethical practice, transparency, and the protection of the integrity of international education accreditation.
