A Transparent and Structured Pathway to International Recognition
IEB Accreditation Process
The International Education Board (IEB) follows a structured, transparent, and evidence-based accreditation process designed to support institutions in achieving alignment with international education standards. The process emphasizes quality assurance, continuous improvement, and institutional development while respecting national regulations.
IEB accreditation is voluntary, non-governmental, and developmental, offering institutions an internationally recognized quality benchmark.

Institutions seeking IEB accreditation submit a formal application outlining their educational model, governance structure, programs offered, and legal standing. IEB reviews eligibility to ensure alignment with the appropriate accreditation category.
Applicable to:

-
Colleges and professional schools
-
Schools and academic institutions
-
Vocational and skills-based training providers
-

Step 1: Eligibility and Application
Eligible institutions complete a structured self-evaluation based on IEB accreditation standards. This stage requires submission of documented evidence related to governance, curriculum, faculty, learner services, quality assurance, and ethical compliance.
The self-evaluation encourages internal reflection and quality enhancement prior to external review.
Step 2: Self-Evaluation and Documentation
IEB conducts a desk-based review of submitted documentation to assess completeness, alignment with standards, and readiness for further evaluation. Feedback may be provided to address gaps or clarifications before progressing.
Step 3: Desk Review and Preliminary Assessment
Qualified assessors and subject-matter experts conduct an independent evaluation using IEB’s approved framework. Depending on the education model, this may include virtual or on-site assessment, interviews, and verification of academic and operational practices.
All evaluations are conducted objectively and free from conflicts of interest.
Step 4: External Evaluation and Peer Review
Based on evaluation findings and documented evidence, an accreditation decision is made through IEB’s formal decision-making process. Outcomes may include:
-
Full Accreditation
-
Conditional or Provisional Accreditation
-
Deferral pending improvements
-
Non-accreditation
Decisions are communicated transparently with clear rationale and recommendations.
Step 5: Accreditation Decision
Accredited institutions receive official certification and are authorized to reference IEB accreditation in accordance with recognition and logo usage policies. Accreditation status may be published in IEB’s official listings.
Step 6: Certification and Public Recognition
IEB accreditation is granted for a defined cycle and subject to ongoing monitoring. Institutions are expected to maintain compliance, submit periodic reports, and engage in continuous improvement. Renewal reviews ensure sustained adherence to standards.
Step 7: Monitoring, Review, and Renewal
Commitment to Fair and Ethical Accreditation
The International Education Board ensures that all accreditation activities are conducted with integrity, confidentiality, transparency, and accountability. The accreditation process is designed to support institutions in strengthening quality while safeguarding learner interests and public trust.
